We hope that, soon, we are able to welcome more people into the studio at one time. Until then, we are offering open studio reservations for small groups. A group of six to eight children is ideal. Reservations can be made Monday - Saturday from 10 am - noon. The cost is a minimum of $150 for two hours, or $25 per child if there are more than six children. Kids have access to drawing, painting, sculpture, and clay as well as one-on-one help and attention from a studio teacher. Specific project requests can also be accommodated, including printmaking.
- At least one parent/caregiver must be present with the children.
- Shoes must be worn in the studio.
- We encourage everyone to wear clothes that can get messy.
- No food is allowed in the studio.
- We request that all people wear masks. Unvaccinated children are required to wear masks at all times.
- Temperature checks will be taken prior to entering the studio.
Reservation system - coming asap.... in the meantime please call 503-936-3314 to make a reservation.
How can you help your child to have a successful experience at PCAS?
- Allow your child to explore all of the materials in the studio, as there is so much to discover.
- Nurture your child's process of making art rather than being focused on their finished product.
- It's okay to make a bit of a mess. We want your child to use lots and lots of glue and paint. On the flip side, you can also help your child to understand that we use only the amount we need for our projects.
- Often, kids take the lead and engage in a very natural way with the space and the art materials available to them. There is rarely a need to intervene in their artistic process, except maybe to help them reach something that is too high or mix up another special color of paint. However, if you have come to the studio on a day when your child may need a little extra direction, PCAS teachers are here to provide you with tools and ideas to help you and your child get started.
- Feel free to help us keep the studio materials organized and neat. We appreciate your assistance.
